Glacier Bay National Park Master Plan
MRV was hired by Goldbelt, Inc. to masterplan a major upgrade to this site, including the addition of up to sixty new cabins, expansion of the lodge, addition of an interpretive center and the addition of four new buildings to house seasonal staff members. The master plan expanded the original layout while preserving the special characteristics of the natural setting and minimizing the impacts of development. MRV’s design expanded on the positive characteristics found in prior development, including careful separation of housing, use of setting, and simple architectural detailing. Throughout the project, MRV worked in close cooperation with the National Park Service.
