Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School

This 88,000 square-foot facility was designed to create separate "houses" within the 700-student school, each with their own identity, all sharing access to the media center and other support areas. The ground floor student commons area is the focal point for school activities. The exploratory spaces, which include a three-court gymnasium; language, art, and music rooms; technology sciences laboratories; and life sciences room, were grouped together for easy access. This was a joint-venture project, seeing MRV and its partner firm working extensively with the School District, community, and city officials to resolve complex wetlands, sensitive stream, and site slope issues. Former MRV Principal Richard Ritter was the project manager for this project.
